I have 2 kids studying in CMS, Gomtinagar Lucknow U.P. However the school management is increasing fees every year without informing or consulting the parents. Currently only the Fees for my Daughter is Rs 7090 every month for Class 1. And the fees for my Son in Montessori is Rs 4630 every month. Attached screenshot.
Totally, I have to pay a minimum of Rs. 11,720 only for the school fees. On top of that, the school teachers will ask our children to submit activities(things made of paper, cardboard, thermocol, colored-print-outs etc) for which we have to spend another Rs 500 to 1000 every month.
If I add up the books, school uniform and transport. It will easily cost Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 (approximately 2 to 3 lakhs annually) just to provide basic education to my kids in pre-primary.
This school fee is even more in higher classes from 1 to 12. I have noticed that the fee is being regularly hiked and is now more than 2 times than what it was 2 years back. Based on this rate in the next 10 years, we expect the fees to get multiplied by 4 or 5 times, which will be extremely difficult for a middle class person like me to afford.
Also for an average software programmer like me who has a salary of around Rs 20,000. And if he ends up paying this whole amount only as school fees every month, then what will he be spending on food and health ?
