Fake Buyer Scheme on Marketplace

One seller received an enquiry from a buyer named “Mahira”, on a Marketplace. When the notification came, the seller thought that he was talking to a potential buyer, who had some genuine questions related to the product he was selling. Attached screenshot.

But the message was not very clear and had a phone number on it. So the seller contacted the buyer on the phone. And was surprised to find that the buyer was not a real buyer.

He/She was trying to sell their service to become rich quickly. Checkout 1 Crore in the whats app message below.

Quick rich scheme

I think messages like these misguide the young generation in going down the wrong path, of getting rich quickly. Because there is no such thing as becoming a millionaire overnight.

Market Place should also not allow “cross-sell messages” by fake buyers to vendors. Messages should be related to the products only and not become a sales pitch for reverse selling a totally different scheme.

And trying to discuss something on whats app instead of marketplace chat, is also an indication that it is most probably spam.
